VISTA, CA — September 12, 2013 — Omnitek Engineering Corporation (OTCBB: OMTK) today announced the appointment of industry veteran James W. Cole as vice president of vocational sales and product integration.  The company also announced the establishment of an office in Dallas, Texas to support diesel-to-natural gas engine conversion activities in a region with a large population of trucking fleets, as well as an abundant supply of natural gas.

“Jim’s extensive industry knowledge and his experience with original equipment manufacturers are important qualities to support our plans for growth, particularly as we ramp up domestic diesel-to-natural-gas engine conversions.  We look forward to working with Jim, who will be based at our new branch office in Dallas. Service is particularly important to customer relationships and close proximity provides added-value.  Jim will also be instrumental in OE relations,” said Werner Funk, president and chief executive officer of Omnitek Engineering Corporation.

The Dallas office is located at 8117 Preston Road, Suite 300. Dallas, Texas, 75225.  The telephone number is: 214-706-9226.

Cole most recently served as vice president of sales and marketing for Emission Solutions, Inc., a manufacturer of EPA and CARB certified Navistar DT466 natural gas engines, which were available through Navistar dealers and other locations.  His experience includes working with trucking fleets operating in waste management, school bus operations and the food and beverage industries. Cole’s background experience also includes working with major heavy-duty engine manufacturers and government regulatory agencies, such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Air Resources Board (CARB), the Department of Energy (DOE) and Department of Transportation (DOT), as well as state agencies. His sales and marketing experience includes a more than 23-year tenure with Nortel Networks, receiving multi-year service and sales awards and recognition for excellence.  Cole’s earlier career experience includes serving as a product line manager for Ericsson, Inc.; an enroute air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Agency; a facility control communication leadman for LTV, Kentron Hawaii, LTD; a covert surveillance agent with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and manager for Data Transmission, based in San Francisco.

He attended Oklahoma State University, with a focus on engineering and physics.  He earned a certificate in grant proposal writing from Louisiana State University and diplomas from Elkins Institute of Technology, the Federal Aviation Agency Academy and the Central Intelligence Agency School of Communications, with top secret security clearance.  Cole is a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Omnitek Engineering is accelerating its conversion center partnerships throughout the United States and Canada since receiving EPA approval for its diesel-to-natural gas engine conversion technology for the Navistar DT466E and DT530E engines. The company expects to obtain EPA and CARB approval for additional engine models to address the increasing demand from trucking fleets.

Funk noted that Omnitek’s conversion technology offers a significant economic advantage compared with a new natural gas truck purchase.
