OMNITEKENGINEERING-CONVERSION TECHNOLOGY SELECTED FOR PROJECT

TO REDUCE CARBON EMISSIONS IN BANGLADESH

SAN MARCOS, CA — August 22, 2011 — Omnitek Engineering Corporation (OTCQB: OMTK) today announced its technology was selected to convert 45 new diesel trucks to operate on natural gas for refuse collection in Dhaka City, Bangladesh, under a project focused on improving waste management and the environment in the country.

The conversion of the engine from diesel to natural gas was performed by the Navana Group -- Omnitek’s exclusive dealer in Bangladesh, as well as the exclusive distributor for HINO Motors of Japan, the manufacturer of the trucks. The trucks were up fitted for waste management collection capabilities by ShinMaywa Industries, Ltd.

The new trucks were donated to Dhaka City through the efforts of Toyota Tsucho Corporation and a grant provided by Japan’s Environmental Grand Aid Project, “Improvement of Solid Waste Management in Dhaka City Towards a Low Carbon Society.”

“The use of low-cost and clean-burning natural gas will be a significant financial and environmental benefit to Dhaka City. We are honored that our conversion technology was selected for this important project and look forward to continuing to work with Navana Group and capitalizing on the significant opportunities for diesel-to-natural gas conversions in this region, as well as other global markets,” said Werner Funk, president and chief executive officer of Omnitek Engineering Corporation.
